Will & Wendy | Together for Life {Niagara Wedding Photographer}

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

This is Part Two of Will and Wendy’s wedding day- you can see their traditional Chinese tea ceremony here. I loved photographing Wendy, in case you can’t tell. She was a natural in front of the camera! Thanks again to Cindy of Absolute Photography for having me along!

After the tea ceremony Wendy changed into her wedding gown with the help of her mother and aunt. We then photographed their touching ceremony in Christ Church.

After the ceremony, the whole wedding party showed just how much they loved Will and Wendy by sticking it out in the cold weather and being absolutely awesome! We photographed them in areas all around Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was a busy day and there were many onlookers and well wishers! At some points there were even tourists standing beside me, behind me, etc. taking pictures of Will and Wendy together! I guess they thought Will and Wendy were pretty awesome too.

We took some more images of the whole wedding party after cocktails (and warming up) at Queenston Heights Restaurant.

Wedding Inspiration {Niagara Wedding Photographer}

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

I have to admit it- I am a wedding/party blog addict. I absolutely LOVE all the details, from the invitations (I could drool over paper and design all day) to the food, the arrangements and creative use of old things merged with new things- all to create a unique, one of a kind event. My kids birthday parties always become something way beyond a party as it starts with a theme and just snowballs from there. I spend hours creating banners, labels, tags, and searching the Internet for ideas. If I could have my wedding now- well, I don’t know if I could leave my computer even to sleep! This kind of stuff didn’t exist when I got married (only 6 years ago).Recently I have been getting quite a few requests for 2012 weddings, and so I thought I’d post some of my favorite wedding blogs so that I could pass on my addiction :)

So of course I have to start with the big blog- Style Me Pretty. There you can find the most incredible inspiration and to top it off, you can also Build a Board- an inspiration board of all your favorite images on their blog- a great tool to help you decide on a theme and run with it.

Green Wedding Shoes is another great blog, and has a lot of amazing DIY projects featured as well. They feature entire weddings of real life people- full of personality and details. They always include a little interview from the couple which is really informative, and includes all the vendors they used. While it is a Californian blog, many vendors are online, so you could also find the same items as well.

I recently found Once Wed, a new fave. They feature some gorgeous weddings and recently posted Kate Moss’ wedding- STUNNING! I especially loved seeing the celebrities in the images, including Paul McCartney. It’s not all celebrities though- they have a whole section on DIY weddings. There are some fabulous ideas there for those who are willing to do some work to get a one-of-a-kind wedding on a budget. They also have a section for Used Wedding Dresses for those who want couture on a budget- this one makes me drool!!!!

Grey Likes Weddings was one of the first blogs I began following. I LOVE their DIY ideas, particularly this one using cinder blocks as centerpieces- who would have thought?!

The Wedding Chicks is another fun blog- beautiful, real weddings featured plus DIY projects and freebies- what’s not to love?

One thing you will notice as you browse through these blogs is that the beauty is in the details. Unique floral arrangements, fun socks for the groomsmen, custom invitations, DIY centerpieces, incorporating found or vintage items- what can you do to make your wedding stand out from the crowd? It doesn’t have to cost a lot- as these inspiration sources prove, all it takes is a little bit of work and a lot of love.

And if you are looking for vendors in the Niagara/Halton/Hamilton/Burlington area- check out The Swish List.

I’d love to hear what you thought of these blogs- and I hope I helped in some small way.
