My baby girl turns two today {Niagara Children’s Photographer}

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Two years ago, the LORD blessed Greg and myself with a sweet baby girl named Eden Jade, a little sister for Kyara. From the beginning, everything was different with her. She had a head full of dark hair and her skin was always naturally dark, the opposite of her elder sister. She was quiet, content and always so sweet. We knew that it just couldn’t last…lol, and we were right. Shortly after she turned 1, Eden realized she wasn’t going to get anywhere in life sitting in a corner quietly while life went on around her. She began to make noise when she wanted things, and she began to show her true personality. Today she is still a sweet little girl, who loves to say “pwease”, “tank-you” and “suwe” (excuse me)- but she has a very sassy attitude that cannot be denied. This girl holds a huge piece of my heart and it hurts to think of her growing up so quickly. To me she will always be my baby- the one who needs me, who wants to hold my hand, who loves her “bankie” and “owal”. But that too is all going to change as a new sibling is due to arrive soon. The poor baby is going to need an iron pen around it all the time, cause Eden is just going to love him/her to death…she’s been practicing on her baby cousin already!

As I was preparing for the baby, one of the things I always try to do is update the kids photo albums and scrapbooks, as I know it will be a long time until I have a chance to do that with a newborn in the house. And I noticed a pattern emerge- for every 50 or so images I put in Kyara’s album, I would maybe put 20 in Eden’s album. This child hates the camera. Although she has a wicked cheese face for me every once in a blue moon, most of my images of her are of her back :( I decided to take her out for her two year pictures, just me and her, and it was amazing. In 45 minutes I took 263 frames and I managed to get quite a few I loved! To say I was overjoyed is an understatement! Here she is, just being her-

The apple was a brilliant distraction- we have an apple tree in our backyard that she eats from every.single.day. Yes, I know….Eden, garden, apples- it sounds familiar right?! ;)

7 Days {Niagara Family Photographer}

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I will be away from home for a whole week, enjoying the time with my family up at our favorite place to be, Chesley Lake! I cannot wait, my kids are just the perfect age and this is going to be such a fun year to watch them soak it all up! And to top it off, my little sis Kailee has arrived home from Australia as a surprise for my Mum’s birthday- so she and her boyfriend Liam (who came with her from Australia) are going to be there- the whole family is together again and it feels awesome!

I will be back, checking my E-mail and responding to messages on Monday, August 9.

Here’s a little glimpse of what I hope we’ll be doing a LOT of this coming week!

Me- Full of Life {Niagara Maternity Photography}

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Well, I wasn’t sure I really wanted to do this, but I sucked it up and decided to post some pictures of myself on the blog. Steff recently took some time to photograph me and our little family, as well as some maternity shots for me. I had pictured a lifestyle session, very casual and fun, in our new master bedroom. The kids were absolutely HORRIBLE when it came to taking directions- they are the epitome of “photographer child syndrome”…they either choose to not look at the camera or pretend to work with us saying cheese while looking away. I did think it would be easier if it wasn’t me taking the pictures, but they weren’t having much of it. Oh well, we did get one half-decent family image :P

Phew, it’s over…I am so nervous to be posting these! And for those who are wondering, baby #3’s anxiously awaited due date is September 10, 2010.

Product Showcase {Niagara Family Photographer}

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

I thought it would be fun to share some images of some of my products from time to time. Although I often bring these items to sessions with me so clients can see and feel them in person, it is nice to have some images to share as well.

This is a 3×3 mini-accordion album. It comes in a frosted cover to protect your album, whether you keep it in your purse, on your desk at work or your fridge (yes, it’s magnetic, how cool is that?!). The albums are also magnetic front to back, so they will close shut nicely. You can choose up to 10 images to feature in the album, and the cover and back are covered with black leather.

I absolutely adore these albums, they are such a great way to carry your images with you. I have one of my girls, and also gave one to each grandmother on Mother’s Day. They are a huge hit with grandparents!
