My baby girl turns two today {Niagara Children’s Photographer}

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Two years ago, the LORD blessed Greg and myself with a sweet baby girl named Eden Jade, a little sister for Kyara. From the beginning, everything was different with her. She had a head full of dark hair and her skin was always naturally dark, the opposite of her elder sister. She was quiet, content and always so sweet. We knew that it just couldn’t last…lol, and we were right. Shortly after she turned 1, Eden realized she wasn’t going to get anywhere in life sitting in a corner quietly while life went on around her. She began to make noise when she wanted things, and she began to show her true personality. Today she is still a sweet little girl, who loves to say “pwease”, “tank-you” and “suwe” (excuse me)- but she has a very sassy attitude that cannot be denied. This girl holds a huge piece of my heart and it hurts to think of her growing up so quickly. To me she will always be my baby- the one who needs me, who wants to hold my hand, who loves her “bankie” and “owal”. But that too is all going to change as a new sibling is due to arrive soon. The poor baby is going to need an iron pen around it all the time, cause Eden is just going to love him/her to death…she’s been practicing on her baby cousin already!

As I was preparing for the baby, one of the things I always try to do is update the kids photo albums and scrapbooks, as I know it will be a long time until I have a chance to do that with a newborn in the house. And I noticed a pattern emerge- for every 50 or so images I put in Kyara’s album, I would maybe put 20 in Eden’s album. This child hates the camera. Although she has a wicked cheese face for me every once in a blue moon, most of my images of her are of her back :( I decided to take her out for her two year pictures, just me and her, and it was amazing. In 45 minutes I took 263 frames and I managed to get quite a few I loved! To say I was overjoyed is an understatement! Here she is, just being her-

The apple was a brilliant distraction- we have an apple tree in our backyard that she eats from every.single.day. Yes, I know….Eden, garden, apples- it sounds familiar right?! ;)

In my continuing quest to get a great image of my two girls together, I had them out in the backyard one day- I got nothing from Eden but that’s not a surprise. She refuses to sit still or co-operate whenever there is a camera around. I am waiting for the day she decides to embrace the camera like her big sister. Kyara is a total diva! She often asks for pictures if she’s all dressed up in her princess outfits or if she’s doing something like holding hands with Eden in the van or playing cute with her baby. She will ask me over and over until I pull out the camera and take a bunch of pictures. Hey- it’s better than me begging her!

Here she is:

Sweet Baby Bree {Vineland Newborn Photographer}

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

This is Bree. Isn’t she just adorable?! Bree was such a good little girl for me, even at 5 weeks old. The older these little ones get, the harder they become to pose and get all those sleepy, curly newborn poses….but Bree was a champ and slept nicely for me for most of the session! Mom, your gallery will be live first thing tomorrow morning…no more waiting!

My baby sister {Waterdown Family Photographer}

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Taylor was the baby of our family for 7 years, until my littlest brother came along and bumped her out of her favored position ;) Taylor was always a beautiful little girl, with thick, long brown hair and huge eyes. This month, that same little girl will be graduating from grade 8 and moving onto high-school in September. Normally a very casual girl, she loves sports and usually wears her hair in a ponytail. But this is grad, and so she’s going all out! Before the big day came around, we did a little test run on her hair and makeup, and I got to take her out on a photo shoot. We drove around Waterdown, finding awesome locations and incredible light, and it was so much fun! Editing these images however, was more difficult, as I sat staring at my computer  wondering what happened to my baby sister? I guess she’s all grown up now!

Taylor, I am so proud of you, and the wonderful person you have become. You are gorgeous on the outside, but more importantly, you are incredible on the inside. We love you so much! xoxo

p.s. your shoes are awesome :)

More to share {Niagara Baby Photographers}

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I just had to share a few more images of this scrumptious little guy! He was so easy to work with, never made a peep being outside in just his diaper! We just loved his session, and will definitely be adding some of these to the website as well!
